Have I made an epic mistake, buying a VAIO Fit 15 E
Have been getting to grips with the wonders that is touch screen and windows 8 - haven't thrown it across the room yet, so not too bad.
However, I just had a horrible realisation that my notebook does not have a VGA port!!! I have gone into slight panic mode, seeing as I teach at least twice a week where I either need to plug into my projector or into the wall mounted monitors for presentations.

Hey there
First mistake - Windows 8!
However looking at Amazon, there are HDMI to VGA adapters

Cheers.

Cheers Quinnicus, I have to say, I am not liking windows 8.
And the fact that I am going to have to carry yet more bloody adaptors around with me isn't filling me with joy, but thanks for the info 🙂

I like Windows 8
Only once I got it to boot to desktop and brought the start button back of course. Faster W7 now.

Definatly the big mistake was getting a laptop with Windows 8, the laptop was probably designed like the operating system, not very intelegently.

@Drewde: I like your thinking, and I’m slowly making it look more useable
@Jumpy: hahaha, he does look rather sexy in all those straps, not sure how many extra adaptors it would facilitate though
@Laptoplinux: I was definitely thinking that last night, but today I feel more optimistic lol
My solution for now: copy all my bloody presentations back onto my old VAIO and take that with me in order to be able to work tonight. Leaving my shinny new VAIO to just look pretty at home

Just saw this review:
http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/07/sony-vaio-fit-15-review-2013/
"
- Good performance, fast boot-up
- Improved keyboard
- Attractive design
- 1080p display and NFC come standard
- Webcam performs well in low light
- Short battery life
- Narrow viewing angles
- Heavy compared to some competing models
The Fit 15 combines a pretty design with impressive specs, solid performance and an improved keyboard.

Hi Faith,
Is it your projector, if so do you know what model it is or if the projector your using has a HDMI port.?
There are ways to start your vaio straight into desktop mode if that would make using your vaio more easier for you and when Windows 8.1 is released there is going to be an option in control panel that will allow you to start in Desktop..:smileywink:
