Got the same error, it says that the ressource is on a network that I don't have access or stuff like that, well it's typical from Microsoft. I masked the update and continue using Office 2007, which is light years ahead of Works if you have never used it.
If it's in case you need a free calendar I suggest the one integrated in Vista. You can also try getting the latest Microsoft Outlook Connector for Office 2003-2007 (still beta) to start using your Windows Live Mail (hotmail, msn, etc.) calendar for free. This is a good way around too if you try to keep your mail, calendar, tasks and contacts centralized and updated on more than one computer for free. And for the other programs such as Word and Excel, they are so basic on Works that it can serves as an introduction only, or kids' work for elementary school. I use it (Excel & Word 2007) everyday and when I checked at Works it's just not worth to compare.
This is a long way to say that you probably don't need to update this software. I don't know if it's about a security issue, cause I have a powerfull antivirus solution so I don't mind. I suggest masking this update if you don't use this software.
