Deleting Users in XP Pro

An interesting one.
My laptop originally had two users, User 'x' (me) and user 'y' (my wife). When My wife obtained her own computer I deleted her 'account' (user'y') from my computer - no probs with this.
When I now start my computer all is well ie it goes straight through the 'Boot-up' sequence via my password with no problem. However, when I hibernate my computer and re-start it I get my account name name (only) come on screen which I have to click on to get computer to start up - this 'user x' box shouldn't be there should it? How do I get rid of it?
Thanks,
Gyron

Hi Gyron,

Do you have to enter a password when you normally log in to windows?

If so try this..

Go to Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Power Options..

A new window should open slect the Advanced Tab and then Uncheck “Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby”

Thanks (once again) Thalamus, easy when you know how. That has 'cured' annoying problem. The help you and others provide on this Forum are excellent - really don't know what a lot of us would do without you knowledgable guys there to assist us.
Apologies if my particular problems are often infantile.
Kind regards,
Gyron
