Changing graphic card in my vaio, need some help!

Hi there guys! I have sony vaio VGN-NS30E and it has a graphic card built in motherboard, my question to you guys: Can I change it to any other NOT built in graphic card? I mean, can I buy it at any shop or internet auction and install it in my vaio to increase its performace?

Hi Jakdlu and welcome.

The biggest disadvantage of a notebook computer is that, unlike desktops, some components are not upgradable - so it is very important to make sure the original specification meets your needs before you buy.

Your Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M is a part of the Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset and is impossible to upgrade. You may be able to increase performance by applying the latest drivers from Intel but this sort of budget graphics are just not designed for intensive graphics applications.

You can buy an upgraded graphics card that will fit into the expresscard slot but this will only display on an external monitor. Have a look here: -
