ANNOYING NOISE FROM PCV-RX202!

For some reason on my computer. recently, it has started making this strange sort of clicking sound. Before, you could move the computer a bit, and the sound would go off, but now its continually clicking. its REALLY annoying. it sorta sounds like something rattling. Can anyone help?

Yeah, new fans are cheap, and easily replaced, its not hassle at all - just take caution if its a CPU fan.

Also clean your fan for better performance. Dust can clog the ball bearing parts and make turning harder.

Hey guys,

what are you afraid of?
A CPU- or graphics-fan is not a metal blade! Take a look at the fan-design. In the center of the fan there is sort of a platform, where there is no danger at all putting your finger on gently and stopping the fan.

We are talking about a piece of plastic about 20g in weight. Even if you were to stick your finger into the blade itself, there would not be any blood dripping on the chassis...

So give it try, but do not think about unplugging the fan-power while the system is running - not a very smart idea!

The suspected part is the fan on the graphics card, and only in a upside down position.

You can not unplug it, but you can move the whole case so that the fan is vertical rather than upside down horizontal.

And for our brave fan-touchers and those hesitating:
The fan is plastic with a flat centerpiece. If you put the tip of your finger on the flat centerpiece you slow the fan to a stop, no need to touch the "blades".

where would this world be with out the brave volunteers who risk all, just to help a fallen comrade!! One little gold star for Stephanius !!

As Stephanius rightly pointed out, it is most likely the graphics card as moving the monitor a little bit used to stop it - being attached to the graphics card it seems much more likely than any other fan.

Thats where you're wrong - I cut myself on a GPU fan a while back, I know if you do it carefuly it won't hurt, but I learnt the hard way. Anyway, its not a good thing to promote here, you never know if there are children reading this, and they shouldn't attempt putting their fingers in the fan.

To solve the problem with your noisy PC, please hold it tight while you jump off a highway bridge.
You will not be able to notice the noise afterwards.

As I said, the alternative is tilting the unit.

Oh, and Kee-lo....this GPU fan is no fancy metal affair, it is just a little piece of black plastic, and it is more afraid of you than you fear it.
