Xperia P battery drains very quickly

Hi all,

Need your help in resolving the battery issue of Xperia P. I recently went out for a one day trip and therefore I Kept my Phone in Airplane mode to keep it alive for that whole day. And it worked. If I wouldn't have done that, even with Data-traffic off, it doesnt last longer than say 5-6 hours.. Please help.:smileysad:

May I know, what is SUS?

I've repaired by phone once after updating it to .54 version. And I'm running the same version now. The Pc companion says, no update available. Thinking_Face

That is the best way to do. Try repairing your software, everytime i experience batt prob repairing always save me. Worth a try. And dont b bothered with the .75 firmware cause many of us here still use the .54 fw. Post again if software repair helped you fix the issue

Hi,

Xperia P comes with 1350mAh Battery which is not up to standards but it can last for about 16 to 18 hours if ur fone is at idle and u switched off ur mobile data. And about SUS i also don't know exactly what it is. Hope my answer may solve ur problem regarding battery:smileygrin:

Yes, there is no update available after .54 version. SUS refers to Sony Update Service. Now for the main problem i.e. Battery. See man, you are not the only one who is facing this problem. All of the Xperia P users have this. 1300mAH Battery for 4'' White Magic Display with a Dual Core Processor is not a big thing. We will be getting the Jelly Bean update soon and let us hope that we will get a better battery life. There is nothing you can do but only wait for the JB update.

Anmol,

Even JB can not resolve this battery issue because you stated why it will not do so. Let's cross our fingers for bug free JB Update..

Updates can make a difference in battery life. They can reduce the battery usage of system apps or something other. Not major difference though but surely minor ones.

Anmol is right. Updates gives us something different. Is this your first android phone? If you want to enhance your xp p battery life root it use a custom firmware. Thats the best way to calibrate your battery even it has only 1305mah batt capacity.its not advisable but if your not contented with xp p batt do it

While on charging mode, even after 100% it shows battery can sustain for 16h.. But at the moment I removed it from charging same at 100%, it showed 3h..!! WTF..!! Howz this even possible.? Whereas a frnd of mine has the same phone, and the battery was discharging at 17% showing 17h..!!!! (Wi-fi, data traffic on, brightness-0) Also, her phone has got an update notif of version .75..! But I haven't.. Angry_Face

Will repairing the phone and updating it once again solve the problem?:smileyplain::smileysad:
