Wifi still running after turning off?

I turned off my wifi but why is it that when I check Settings > About Phone > Battery Use it still displays the wifi with 3% consumption?

This would be on the basis that Wifi was turned on at some stage which used this amount of battery life, or are you advising that you have had Wifi off and it stills shows that it has been used?

Thanks Jake. You are correct. So if I do not turn it on after charging, I guess I will be able to satisfy my requirement of it not showing right?

Thats correct, it will not show after a charge if it has not been turned on.
