Verified WiFi fixes?

Hey all,

I just got the ICS update today, and I was eager to get it installed on my Xperia U. Everything's great so far apart from the Wifi. I've had an extensive search, and I've found some fixes, but unfortuantely, none of worked out in my favor. I've repaired my handset through PCC and SUS multiple times on both, I've reset the settings as well as factory reset the phone. I've edited my router's security protocols to WAP, WAP2, WAP/WAP2, and even WAP, to no avail. I've got no root access, but is there a way to find whatever conflicting GB files and delete them? This isn't a grumblegrumble issue, per se, but I don't get any signal in my flat (due to my area), and it's my prefered way of getting my emails and facebook messages. Everything worked fine in GB, btw.

Thanks in advance.

posted it in some other thread already. what worked for me and some other people was changing the wifi routersettings from b/g/n to b/g only.

Meant WPA as well as WEP.

Annnnnd now whenever I try to turn Wi-fi on, it has the sending data "up" arrow, and the retrieving data "down" arrow for roughly five minutes, then the "down" arrow vanishes. The "up" arrow is still there, but nothing works, and all I get are network connectivity error messages when I try to make it work. What's more, I am now one of the many others who have the wi-fi killing issue; the one where not only does the wi-fi die on the handset, but it dies on my wife's laptop and my PC (wired connection is fine, xbox tested).

Anyone with all of the above issues and managed to get a fix?

Can I at least get some sort of answer from anyone who knows ANYTHING? Kind of frustrating to think my phone is essentially usesless for what I use it for and there is no workaround.

I swear I did that last night, but it seems to be working fine now. A slight delay between sending and retrieving, but it's not killing my other devices nor is it freezing after 2 minutes. Cheers, mate. I'll update the thread if I run into any setbacks. Do you know if there will be a more permanent fix? My flat is fairly small, so I don't need the increased range of n, but being able to log into my Uni's network would be great.
