short cut on status bar?

Dear friends,

i have Xperia Ray. I want to add a shortcut to wifi in status bar. Because there is not way to open/close wifi without closing the existing application and going to settings or home screen.

is it possible to add shortcuts to status bar???

no, you will need a different launcher, why don't you add a widget?

on the homescreen -> press MENU -> add -> widget -> on/off wifi

i already have a widget added on home screen.  But if i am already inside an application and i need to turn on/off wifi.. I have to come on homescreen first.    If status bar has the option of wifi i could do it easily while i am inside the application.

Which launcher?? are there any official launchers?? i don't want to root my phone.

btw rooting its not such a bad thing you can root and unroot anytime, as long as you DON'T unlock your bootloader you'll be fine

yeah thanks for the application links.

But i wonder why it doesnt have the shortcuts in stutus bar that comes with it. Status bar is almost empty ... seems such a wastage

that's for the developers to fix or add, but with Android 4.0 this will change, since we will have a LOT of notifications and options there

I use QuickToolbar.

But need a root access since you have to replace the SystemUI.apk
