Neo V Update from 2.3.4 to 4.0.2.A.0.42

I tried to connect via pc companion and everything went well for the first time..at the last moment during the MTP connection a crash message came with Win 7 hence PC companion had a close

Since then i am unable to connect via MTP and it says no phone connected, but via MSP it connects happily

So now stuck... unable to update to 4.0.2.A.0.42

Please Advise

no, Ice Cream Sandwich is not available, there is only ONE phone in the whole world that has Android 4.0, and that is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. we will get 4.0 later on.

instead of PC Companion try Update Service

How to install it

You need to

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

download IO File Manager

download the backup & restore app, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it

Contacts

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already

open your phonebook

press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email

on your computer

-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

Apps

Don't worry so much about backing up your apps

on your computer go to

market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

SMS/MMS

if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then

Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail

Now currently trying with Update Service (SEUS) will let you if this is successfull :smileygrin:

if it says that you have the latest update try again but this time remove the SD and SIM cards

if there's an error while trying to download the udpate

turn off your firewall and/or antivirus

bro the update went smoothly...

But now the build number shows 4.2.A.0.42

Android version is 2.3.4 only.. am confused that is it not a Icecream sandwitch update??

And pls advise the changes made in this build!!
