free mk200 headphones problem

I've just bought the experia t from Tescos and it came with the free Sony MK200 headphones. The problem is the sound quality is very low (low bass and vocals) unless I press the silver button on the supplied extension lead, then the sound is perfect. Anybody got any ideas?

Hi there

The MK200 unit is not compatible* with the phone.

You need and adapter to be able to use it.

OK thank you, though it does seem a bit daft supplying headphones with the phone that  without the adaptor wont work correctly

Just found in the headphones bag the adaptor and everything is working fine now. It would have been helpful if the intructions were a bit clearer though.
