Can anyone tell me, Is there any possibility to upgrade 1GHz CPU/Processor to 1.4GHz CPU/Processor (or higher) for my Xperia Arc.

Thanks for the reply. How much Arc S processor costs? Is it perfectly suit to my Arc? As I have bought my Arc a month before only. I need more speed that currently it has and thatswhy I have asked. If you have some web links like processor replacement for Arc, please forward me to know better. Please advice.
well you can buy the Xperia ArcS or maybe you can buy the Arc S processor (1.4GHz)

hey uliwooly - isnt the processor comes with the motherboard itself..??
i mean processor is a part of the motherboard or the processor is not attached to the motherboard..?
lol. Buy a processor??? What are you guys smoking?

The processor is soldered onto the PCB. Unless you have some million dollar soldering robots lying around then there's no way you're replacing it! :smileymischief:
You could try overclocking your MSM8255 by rooting or installing custom ROMs. Both the MSM8255 (Arc) and MSM8255T (Arc S) are 45 nm devices, so should be a similar thing to just overclocking the MSM8255 (though Qualcomm may also have changed the internal SRAM memories etc on the MSM8255T to support higher clock rates).
hmm thats what i thought..
I don't think you need million dollar soldering robots but you have to be really careful not to burn your motherboard, it is possible but you have to be skilled
Good luck soldering 500-odd BGA solder balls on the SoC which are << 0.5 mm each in size without some specalist equipment! Not to mention the complications of it being on a PoP package with the memory on top.
Unless you have an SMT assembly at your personal lab and have some free employees to setup the SMT to solder the processor, we might actually have some business there. We can actually solder a dual core processor as well while we are at it.
Just kidding ... Most likely than not you are just going to ruin your phone which will need to be replaced anyway after it stops working because you are drooling on it after seeing the new stuffs from MWC. Please don't try.
