hi guys,
i tried several time to backup my XS using PCcompa but nothing hapened. this problem started when i've update PCcompa. any idea?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you have alot of files on the phone it might take a while for PC Companion to scan all files and it may look like PC Companion is not responding. There might also be a problem with the installation and if so you need to uninstall PC Companion and then reinstall it from http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/.
The app called Backup&restore in the phone does however save more data (also apps) so another solution is to connect a USB-drive using a USB-adapter and make a backup to the drive directly from the phone.
Depending on how much free storage you have you could also make a backup to the internal storage in Backup&restore. Then connect the phone to your computer and copy the folder called .semc-fullbackup to your PC.

wouldn't bother you'll have loads of trouble getting stuff back.
I use Super Backup with an OTG cable and usb pendrive for mine and have backed up and restored everything without any problem with it.:smileywink:
so you recommand using an externel driver to backup the data?
yeah - used PCC the first time and never got anything back (luckely i'd copied all of the photo's etc to the PC before I did the upgrade to ICS) so it was only a case of adding contacts back in yo the phone and lost all messages
