Can someone explain what is 'Media Server'

Hello,

Can someone explain what is 'Media Server' ?

It consumes 90% of battery, even when the phone is idle.

1. How do you restrict this stuff from loading on the background?

2. Or which app does it need the support of Media Server? I've Whatsapp/Facebook Messenger only extra installed, all the rest are inbuilt apps.

Media Server is a Pictures and Video indexing process.
It is probably running because you have added new media, Listened to music or viewed photo's or every now and again it needs to run so it can keep the database up to date
