I have a VGC-JS4EF/S - the screen has died - failed a few times and has now gone black. I think it's the screen backlight rather than the graphics card as I cna make out the desktop if I shine a torch at the screen when the pc is on.
What I need advice on is - 1. can it be repaired? 2. how can I connect an external monitor - e.g. A Samsung TV - taking into account the fact that I cann't input anything via the keyboard without seeing it on the monitor - I've heard that Fn 7 is the short cut key to access the external monitor - is that right?
Desperate here to access work files saved on the Vaio and a bit depressed about the situation.
