sony hdr-fx1e - mic/line 'plug in power'
my sony camcorder hdr-fx1e has a socket on the side labeled:
MIC/LINE
plug in power
I'm puzzled as to what this means exactly. MIC/LINE is easy but plug-in-power? Does this port operate as a power output too? or a power input? what voltages are we talking about? confused. I have a copy of the user manual but that doesn't give details. thanks for any help.

Hi @neuronetv,
that means it can power passive microphones with phantom power or power active microphones if their battery dies during a shoot.
