Recording video without recording sound

I have just bought a cx115e and was wondering if it is possible to record without audio being recorded as I want to record the audio on external mics through a mixer. I can't find anything in the book of words and was hoping someone else has already worked out if this is possible. Thanks Jon

Hi JonHarv and welcome to the SONY forum

The camcorder doesn't seem to have an external microphone input, otherwise I just would have suggested to connect a microphone there and keep it switched off.

Unless there is a possibility in the settings to switch off the internal microphone I guess it would be the easiest to eliminate the original recorded sound track of the camera when you bring the pictures and your external recorded sounds together using a video editing software. That should be possible straight forward.
