The standard warranty is 12 months from the date on your receipt, and your receipt is the warranty proof. You don't need to register it somewhere or anything like that.
That said, some retailers have this 5 year Sony warranty promotion, if you have that, you should definitely reach out after a month or so to register it with the Sony support reps.
