I have a recently purchased Sony KDXH9505, which is suffering a strange issue when watching on demand content through my Sky Q box - it will momentarily have an audio drop out issue which lasts for a split second but is annoying never the less. This doesn't happen at consistent times but is entirely intermittent,
I've read both on here and other sites such as AV forums, AVS forums, Reddit and this community that this is an issue not only with this model but with also older legacy models - has this ever been resolved?
My TV and Sky Q box are connected through my Denon X3400H receiver, through the eARC / ARC connections and connected via HDMI cables.
Has anyone here experienced this issue with this model and / or can suggest a way to resolve it? It never happened on the Panasonic VT65 plasma that it replaced!
As it's incredible frustrating on what is otherwise a fantastic TV!
Hi,
Can you please swap the eARC setting for the input the Sky Q Box is connected to and see if it solves the issue?
Cheers
Peter
I think you'll find that this is a Sky Q software issue and may be addressed in the latest Firmware update.
Hi Peter_S - I assume you're referring to the HDMI signal format within the 'watching TV' menu of the XH950?
This input is set to 'enhanced format' as this supports the highest quality HDMI signals - as recommended.
Are you recommending I change this to 'standard format' - this seems like a massive compromise and step-down in quality which shouldn't be necessary?
BertSlater - I have seen on the Sky Q forums a few questions re: audio dropouts and how to resolve it - with no suggestion from Sky it seems.
Whilst I can see how the Sky Q box may be presenting the problem - I don't understand then why the issue wasn't present with my previous TV, with everything else remaining the same? (Same cables, Sky Q box, fibre broadband, AV equipment and interconnects)
Lots of users are reporting the last update fixed this issue: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xh95xx_x95xxh-series-55-65-75-/kd-55xh950...
