Whenever I try to load BBC iPlayer on my Sony Bravia TV KD-49X8505B, I get the above message. I also get it when I try to load from Roku.
Can anyone tell me how to rectify, please.
The only known workaround is to restart the TV at the mains, then make sure to reduce the menu navigation to a minimum and to go straight to the program you want to play as soon as you open iPlayer. BBC have known about this issue with the app for a while.
@Win_88 afaik x85b is a 2014's model not android and what @AKennedy686 is willing to do is simply impossible
This is indeed a set that predates Android, so Android problems and Android fixes will not apply, but according to the BBC, iPlayer is still supported on this model range:-

Sony | TV | 2014 | KD-ssX85* |
but I wonder if it is the same problem linked to from that page:-

Did you possibly not give the entire message you got, @AKennedy686 ?
But I note that you can’t get the iPlayer on your Roku either; is it just the BBC iPlayer you can’t get on it, or are there other, perhaps all, Roku ‘channels’ missing also?
And is your Roku device listed here:-
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/questions/supported-devices/roku-nowtv
as the following older Roku devices are no longer supported:-

Answers to these question will help us to help you further, if needed.
Not sure where is it that I said it was an Android TV
I assumed it was the issue linked by @royabrown2 https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/issues/tv/sony-internet-download
which has no solution as the link mentions
