Hi,
After Nougat update, I saw that install button is greyed out while update is started of the application that was manually installed from APK. Also, I can't install new applications via APKs.
I saw the same problem was seen on Philips Android TV and Philips acknowledged the issue and released the fix.
Is Sony aware of this issue and is there a fix?

Yes, you still can:
On the install menu you'll see that the install button is greyed out.
Press the Action menu button on your remote.
Press it again to make the menu disappear again.
Now the Install button will work again.

Hi bronzika,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
Can you let me know which Sony product you are referring to?
Cheers,

Hi bronzika,
I checked the model of your TV and it appears to be an American model so it's best to check with Sony support US or the US community pages to get more accurate info as Sony UK doesn't support installing apps from another source other than the Google Play Store.
Hope this helps.

Hi batee5,
my mistake... the model is KD 55X850c, bought in Croatia.
Before the update there was no problem in installing applications manually.

Hi bronzik,
I think this might be related to a security update with the firmware. I guess in both cases sideloading is not recommended by Sony either before or after the update.
Cheers,

Many thanks, Flashlab!
That did the trick.
I guess it is a feature and not a bug?!
