Hello manonvt - welcome to the Sony Forums
Yes the SAL-18250 is compatible with the upcoming A77. The latest developments about this camera can be found here.
Thanks

Hi,
Does anyone know if the AF/MF electronic button works with the SAL-18250 and a77?
This is like DMF on the lens and allows you to do manual focus fine tweaks whilst in AF mode withough damaging the lens.
Cheers.

DMF cannot work with any lens that contains a drive motor.

The expensive Sony SSM motor lenses work with DMF thanks to a special clutch mechanism in the lens I think, and some of the SAM motor lenses. The 18-135 SAM lens does say it is supported in the manual for it, but the 18-250 did not say as much. I have hovever since received a response from Sony:
"We have received an update on your case from a higher level advising that the desired lens model SAL-18250 supports direct manual focus but it should be set firstly on the camera in order not to damage the lens."
So looks like the 18-250 should be ok, but may need to press the AF/MF button, with the SSM I think you can just turn the ring once it is focus locked.
