Hi.
I have just changed over from my Canon 5D MkII, to a NEX-6. Loving it completely, but really need a way of using a cable release. The reason being that I have a trigger system (Photo Trigger - http://www.phototrigger.co.uk/), which connects to the camera cable release socket, to automatically fire/shoot.
Is there any third party cables out there or does anyone have any suggestions how I can hack this?
Cheers.
Mike.
Hi Mike
The documantation I've seen for the phototrigger suggests there are different models for different camera systems; this ebay page has a list http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Canon-Sound-Trigger-Laser-Trigger-Lightning-Trigger-Intervalometer-/170742...
The Sony alpha range is broadly supported, along with others, none of which have the old-style screw-in cable releases. I really don't know much about the system: is it essential to use a cable release, or is there an electronic release mechanism?
Mick
The NEX-6 does not feature a cable remote release socket therefore I fear it can not be used with the Phototrigger system.
NEX-6 can only be remote released by infrared remote (RMT-DSLR2) or with the cameraapp "Smart Camera Remote" via smartphone (WiFi)
