a99 and SAL135mmf1.8Z

Hi, does anyone have any idea why my SAL135mmf1.8Z wildly overexposes with the new a99? I am having some success with other lenses but this one, my favourite and which worked really well with my a900, is unusable. Any ideas?

I haven't heard of this problem before; certainly the SEL135 is perfectly compatible with you a99 and I've seen some very nice results with that lens/body combo.

Is this only happening with auto-exposure? Can you describe the mode/s with which you have noticed it overexposing? Does it happen throughout the aperture range, or only when the lens is opened up, eg f1.8 or 2.8?

Hi Photojen and welcome to the Sony forums,

I have the A99 and 135mm F1.8 and have used them repeatedly but sadly I have not had any exposure issues.  I also use it on my A850 and A77 without issue.

I am assuming that you do not have any issues with the other lenses in your kit bag and that you can change the aperture of the lens freely?  Have you checked the EXIF data to see if the camera is recognising the lens and aperture correctly?
