Transferring playlists from Mac to a Walkman without Content Transfer?

Hi everyone. Since upgrading my Mac to Catalina, I've been trying to no avail to find a way to transfer playlists over to my Walkman. I've not found anything so far, and Sony Support keep fobbing me off when I ask when the next update for Content Transfer will be.

Does anyone know of any alternatives to Content Transfer? My everyday playlist is 3000+ songs so I can't reconstruct it manually on the Walkman (I believe the cap is 999 tracks).

I've got Export for Itunes, but every time I transfer the playlist over it duplicates the tracks which is far from ideal. It may be a matter of tweaking the settings for it, if anyone knows how to do that!

Hi eplmair,

Welcome to the community.

I'll see if I can find this out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.

Thanks,

Pascale

This duplication is very bizarre, are you using Mac Finder? If so, you should probably try using another Mac and see if you get the duplicate tracks again or not.

Thanks for the responses so far- I recognise this is a bit of a niche issue!

I can transfer files from itunes to the Walkman via the Finder without issue, but the issue is there is no way (that I know of) to seamlessly move an itunes playlist to the Walkman without Content Transfer.

The duplication I was referring to was a result of using the specific software 'Export for Itunes'. It can move playlists from my Mac to the Walkman, but not without duplicating the individual audio files. Again, not sure if this is just because I'm using the software incorrectly!

Alas, I don't have access to another Mac at the moment.
