Sony MP3 Players and Apple MacOS?

Hi,

I own both the Sony NW-A45 and the Sony NW-A105.

Is there a work around to sync music on my devices with MacOS?

For example I use Sony Music Center on my Windows 10 laptop, is there an equivalent for MacOS?

Hi Phil,

Welcome to the community.

I'll see if I can track down an answer. Maybe someone else in the community has an idea in the meantime.

Thanks,

Pascale

You can use the Android File Transfer app for the A105 since it runs on Android OS here: https://helpguide.sony.net/dmp/nwa100/v1/en/contents/TP0002433025.html and Content Transfer for Mac with your A45: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/digital-music-players-nw-nwz-a-series/nw-a45/downloads/00...

If you are running Catalina, Content Transfer will not work. Android transfer utility is only so, so. If you have a lot of files you will run out of screen area to drag and drop as there are no scroll bars. You will have to buy more software.

Yeah I'm running Catalina.

Is there not an MacOS  version of the Sony Music Center, or a program that is equivalent to it, that let's me manage my music, sync and create playlists?

Sorry I have no idea if there is a program to transfer, sync etc. I only needed the facility to drag and drop after converting to high res and then attaching cover album art.

unfortunately Sony has the same distain for Apple with their cameras as well.

Hi Phil8715,

There is no Music centre for Mac as far as I'm aware. Only content transfer.

Cheers,

Rose

Yes and that’s useless until they make it compatible with Catalina or the next operating system that comes along.

This isn’t what is expected of a company like Sony or, is it.  Anyway, done buying any kind of Sony products now.

Hi Archer189,

I've just checked the compatible operating systems and I couldn't find anything newer than High Sierra.

Usually Sony releases new updates to support more operating systems.

I hope they do this soon. 🤞

Cheers,

Rose
