NEX 7 REMOTE

Is there any way that I can use the bracketing setup via drive mode with a remote device . You can't use the remote IR device because this has to be set on the same mode control and there is no option to select 2 items from the same "menu". Is this something Sony has got wrong ion this otherwise excellent camera?

As the remote control mode is a dedicated drive mode you can not combine it with one of the other drive modes like bracketing.
