Please can anyone comment on whether it is possible to use a 1X or 2x teleconverter with the above setup?

Hi bushcraftkid,

I believe that the lens is not compatible with a teleconverter. I've just had a look into the compatible accessories and it's not listed.

Also. I've checked the 2 teleconverters that Sony manufacture: SEL20TC ( 2X converter) and SEL14TC ( 1.4X converter) and found that it is compatible only with few number of lenses, I recommend checking the below:
