Z5 won't turn on/Flashing Red Light after latest Software Update attempt

After attempting the latest software update about an hour ago, my Z5 is unable to turn on. When I charge, it is a flashing red light.

I have tried holding down power button for at least 10 seconds, holding power and volume down at the same time, and also the 2-minute restart with the yellow button next to the SIM slot, but no signs of feedback whatsoever.

I have not tried software repair through PC companion yet as I do not have access to that right now, but will update with that later..

In the meantime, can anyone suggest anything or is anyone else experiencing this after latest software update?

My phone is not being detected by my computer, I can not attempt to repair. Got off Xperia support chat and have tried all options at this point.

connect the phone to a wall charger >press and hold power and volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for 2-3 hours

I've connected my phone to a portable quickcharge 2.0 for about 2 hours but it's still not powering on. My phone was around 85% when I first attempted the software update so it shouldn't be out of battery in any case.

Tried connecting my phone to my computer, it is not detected. Still flashing red light. This is starting to look like a unrevivable dead brick..

Sony was no help whatsoever. My Z5 is a Taiwan variant so it cannot even be serviced in the US. It is completely dead and I am out of luck.

My phone has the same problem,  it won't turn on and I have no lights.  Not happy at all
