I don't already have Nougat update but I still can't believe that Sony removed an essential function to a dual sim phone! The problem has been told 9 months ago and, even with several updates since then, they coulnd't make this function back!...

I do not have a dual SIM device but I think its a limitation from current platform.

This is hilarious. Dual ring tones is very much required for dual sim.

That was the main reason for the purchase of the Sony m5 dual sim. So what you are telling me is that I need to go back to carrying 2 phones again. 1st time user of Sony now last time user of Sony.

@Ganapathi1 : Is it ironic? It's a very simple and essential function of a dual sim! I'm using a private and professional SIM and with different ringtons, I don't have to watch the phone to know which one is calling!...

Can anyone please help. I need to downgrade firmware to get my dual ringtones back  I have searched for firmware but can't seem to find 30.1.B.1.33 for download. Sony if you can't sort out your problems get a official site for those that want to downgrade so they can use their dual sim phones for their intended purpose that includes dual ring tones.

Managed to downgrade from 6.0 to 5.1 and got my dual ringtones back. The hole and sole reason for the purchase of this phone as we battle to get dual sim phones in S A.

Can you tell me how did you do? I found a Lollipop ROM (but marked as for "E6653" - not dual sim) but FlashTool doesn't work... Thx.

On a french support forum, it's been said that it won't be added with Nougat !... I saw an Honor 8 (Dual sim, Android 6) and it's possible to choose different ringtones for each sim! It's not a limitation from Android, it's a Sony's choice !

On my BQ Aquaris M5.5 that I had previously under Android 6, there was indeed the distinct ring for each sim. With Android 7, it's the same.
For info, currently I am in ROM 5.1.1 (build 32.0.a.6.209) that I reinstalled after putting the 6.1 and I realized that I did not have more different ringtones for each SIM; Of the blow my Sony which was an E6833 turned into E6883, but according to other forums, it is not embarrassing, it is only a serial number depending on the country where the mobile is sold (mine Bought rue du commerce would be referenced "Middle East")
Having bought my Z5 in October, it swells me to have to change now and move on to another brand, but if necessary ...
Since Sony DOES NOT want us to have this function in its customized ROM, what alternative ROM Android 7 could be installed? The Sony interface, we do not care (seen as customers are considered buying phones at 600 EUR). Anyway, I cleared every Sony item from the Rom, and I invite all users to do the same; I use as a KKM launcher.
