The conversations, whrn opened, take about 10-15 seconds! And also when I delete them.
It is very frustrating having to wait so ling everything I have to send a text through a conversation.
Whem sending thr msg doesn't show up and will only show up after closing and opening the conversation 2-3 times, each time taking 10-15 seconds.
The circle keeps spinning, can't even go back
Have to hit the home button.
May I add that I backed up about 71,000 msgs from my iPhone through Sony pc companion.
And I have tried clearing the cache, clearing data, force stopping and restarting.
Nothing works.
Please help.

Picture Messages Take at least 30 seconds to send. Sms lags and there is definitely something going on. I've had all the compact devices and this never happened. Definitely a software issue.....

It would be good for this to be communicated to Sony Support globally, as I was using online support this morning, and the technician was not aware of this issue.

I was requested to go through a software re-installation (beyond the factory reset), so am saving myself from doing it at this point until this is resolved.

It certainly sounds like QA has failed in this instance, and "users upgrading and migrating from other devices" needs to be added catering for large amounts of data and messages being imported onto the device.

I know it took 24 hours for my 7500 messages to the imported with 'SMS Backup and Restore' application, and that it slowed down over 500 messages slowing to a crawl later on in the import.

I also restored over 8000 messages... Def a Problem with the Sotfware..............

Another thing I'd be interested in hearing from others and Sony support is why does a message sent to multiple people appear as a message to all parties, as well as an individual message to all parties from the original multi person message?

Admittedly I've come from Android 4.3 on a Samsung Galaxy S3, but both that phone and my previous HTC devices have never behaved in this fashion.

Is this expected behaviour or not, and do other people see the same behaviour?

You mean when someone replies back to your message?

I've tested this here and it looks like it depends on the setting "Group conversation" under Messaging -> [menu] -> Settings and it also depends on what this setting is set to in the phone used to reply to your message.

If you have this setting off (or the person who replies has it off), you will see the reply in a private conversation along with the message you sent to the group. But if you have the setting on and the person who replies also has it on, you will see the reply in the group conversation.

I was referring to the sending of the message, so when I send a group message I see in messaging a message listed with everyone as recipient, and individually I see the same message copied to each of the recipients individual threads.

For that setting you mentioned for group conversation is turned off.

As I say, it might be the Sony way but it is different behaviour to what I am used to.

Hi I have the same problem on my Z5 I'm currently trying to get issue resolved so will share if I get anywhere

With the group conversation setting disabled, you will also see the message you sent in the private conversations. I believe the thought behind this is to be able to see all messages sent to / received from a person collected in one thread.
