z3 sim card not detected

Hi - I turned my Z3 off at the lecture. When I turned it back on again (it was kept dry and safe in my  pocket, so no water damage etc) it wouldn't recognise the sim. I ve reset the phone but it is still not recognizing the sim card

did you try to re-insert the simcard? since you alread perfomred a reset, try to perform a software repair using xperia companion
