I have a brand new Z3 with the factory image and it is not working with the Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptor (miracast). The Z3 finds the device and it tries to connect for a few seconds. After that it gives the following error, "Could not turn on screen mirroring. The output device is not ready or does not support HDCP".
I know the adapter is working correctly because I tried it on laptops, HTC One (M7), Samsung S5 and OnePlus One.
The adapter does support HDCP.
Does anyone have the same issue and any workarounds?

The Microsoft Wireless Adapter doesnt work with my Xperia Z3 which is running Lollipop 5.0.2. IT will not work my new S6 Edge either.
It will work with my Zperia Tablet running Lollipop 5.0.2
Sorry to hear that it's still not working.
Have you made any changes to your Z3 like unlocking the bootloader? It should work with the version you have.
Not wanting to be one of those people that say "me too" but I'm running a Z1c with 5.0.2 Android and have the same issue with HDCP not supported.
Unsure if the Z1c got the same update as the Z3 but if it did, it isn't working. Stock ROM received OTA
The workaround we made is not implemented in the latest software for Z1 and Z1 Compact. It's planned to be included in the next maintenance release for them.
Hello Dear Support Team,
I have Xperia Z3 Compact with Android 5.0.2 and I still cannot connect to Microsoft Display Adapter.
Do you mean that I should unlock the boot loader?
Please advise what needs to be done, many thanks,
Jan
I have same error when using my Minix Neo X5...
Based on the information i can find, i'm afraid it seems Minix doesn't support HDCP so it will not work with devices that uses HDCP like our products.
