After the latest software update from Sony my z5 stopped recognising my simcard.I attempted to restart it,but it never came back on.When in charger the red light blinks, when power button is held down the red light is solid. That would be it as far as "life signs" go.Tried the 2 button reboot, reset button and repair through pc Companion(cant connect). To no avail.
Th worst bit is I cannot send it for repair(it is still under warranty) because it has screen lock and they require proof of purchase in this case.Phone was bought on Ebay over a year ago and there is only a note of me buying it in my purchase history. No details such as IMEI etc
Can they not trace the phone as belonging to me as I have had it registered to my number since I bought it?
Have I really been put 200£+ out of pocket by the company I have been a fan of for many, many years ?
Many thanks for all the advice and answers.Great forum.
i feel you and i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but generally unless you provide a receipt or some form of purchase acknowledgement, not much can be done. however, rather than just scrap the phone, it would be better to pay to have the people at sony repair it. i dont know how much that'd cost, but you could try speaking with them.
my phone's figerprint sensor has just vanished and i'm trying to get some advice on what to do and have had no luck. 5 months ago, it was a problem with my ps3 and got nothing. so, yeah, not much happens on here i believe and if the customer care ain't much, i'm probably gonna have to stop purchasing their products. it's a shame coz i used to love their products and vehemently defended them, but now its just gotten horrible.
anyways, good luck.
Same issue with mine, arguing with Vodafone at the moment as they are saying it's physically damaged when before the update it was fully working
