Has anyone's widgets all suddenly disappeared when unlocking the phone randomly? This has happened twice to me know on my Z5.

We have found the cause for widgets sometimes missing and there will be a fix for this in the update to Android 6.0.

I am having the same problem with my Z5P.

widget disappeared after restart.

And no I have not move any Widget to the SD card !!!

I hope that this issue is fixed soon in the next update.

Simply put, after a few hours the Google search widget and Sony clock widget disappeared and I have to put them back on the home screen again. Gets annoying after the 50th time.
I have 3 z5s and 3 z5 compacts, same thing happens on each one

Sorry to hear that.

I have seen a few users report this in other threads as well here on the forum and i have forwarded this internally for more information.

Would it be possible for you to take a log file from the phone when this has happened and send it to me?

To do this:
Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number

Go back and select Developer options and turn on "USB debugging"

The next time it happens:

Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report". When the report is ready share it to Google Drive and then send me a private message with a link.

Edit: Do you see anything where the widget should be located like an empty box, colour or similar or do you just see the wallpaper?
