With Android 4.4.4 my xperia Z2 screen mirroring was successfull with Samsung Smart TV.
Now after Lollipop upgrade when I try screen mirroring I obtain an error message "Mirroring error. The output device doesn't support HDCP...."
Solved! Go to Solution.
Sorry to hear that.
I see that you have also been in contact with your Local support regarding this. Checking the conversation you had with them it looks like you may have unlocked the bootloader in your Xperia M2? If you have unlock the bootloader, this deletes the DRM-keys in the phone which will stop HDCP from working i'm afraid.
I am not sure whether my effort for unlocking bootloader succeeded or not. However, My bootloader is locked as ServiceInfo->Configuration says "BootLoader Unlock Allowed: YES". So as of now bootloader is locked.
Further, You quoted DRM related stuff. So in that case, Isnt the applications responsible for playing DRM protected content? What do my phone's screen have to do with DRM? I just want to mirror whatever is playing from phone to TV? Quoting DRM sounds funny to me as far as 'Screen Mirroring' is concerned.
Based on the message you got from PC Companion when you tried to update the phone, i believe you were successful in unlocking the bootloader. PC Companion detected that your bootloader was unlocked when you tried to update the phone.
You may perhaps be able to see if your phones DRM security keys are intact if you dial *#*#7378423#*#* and select Service tests -> Security. Some features in the phone needs these keys to work. They are not just for playing DRM-protected files.
Hello.
Could you help me please.
