This issue has been on for over 1 year now, every time I make a call the screen goes black even if I'm holding the phone in my hand, I had to use the power button to end the calls as the sensor never stops unless the call is ended, tried removing the screen protector and restarting the phone, still have this issue, it is so annoying as I can't use the phone while in a call, also when I run the diagnostic test, the sensor just starts working immediately with no stop, please help.

I'm sorry to hear this.

There are a few more things you can try to see if there is anything software related in your device that is causing this behavior. First if you haven't already, restart your device to safe mode. This is to see if this behavior is due to one of your downloaded apps as these will be temporarily disabled in this mode.

If there is no change I recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Note that this will completely reset your device so make sure you first create a backup using Xperia Companion.
