moisture in Z2 camera lens

Well i recieved my z2 yesterday and immediately and possibly stupidly wanted to test the waterproof aspect of it, i dunked it in a bowl of cold water for no more than 30 seconds however i more have moisture in my camera lens. I've let it try and dry out even left it in rice all last night with the flaps open and the moisture is still there, thing is the flaps were sealed properly so i have no idea why this has happened. Just hoping i haven't knacked the phone on the first day if having it, any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks

I had the same problem, after swimming in a pool, the camera was full of water, and moisture. Leaving the mobile under the sun for while, with taking some 4K videos, REALLY WORKED OUT!! my cam is perfect again, after only 30 min more or less, try it!

I had the same problem with my Z2 last week. The moisture appeared after taking the Z2 from cold springs to a nearby grill area to take a picture. Searched the entire net for a solution but all will say to bring your device to your nearest Sony Care Center. Here in the Philippines, they will have to take your phone in for evaluation and assessment and they told me it would take 45 days for the phone to be replaced or fixed. I didnt want that, so i searched for other solutions. I came upon one in google that saids try to record a 4K video and open all the flaps the phone will gets hot and after the recording stops, just let the phone cool down all by itself. Tried this, didnt work on my first try. but on my second, the mositure turned into liquid and then after a few hours, it was gone. I cant believe it, but it was really gone. For those who has the same problem with the lens and led flash try this, it woould only take one night or a whole day. there's no harm in trying. Hope it works for you!

I made an account just to thank you guys for giving me this solution, it really works!! There were a lot of droplets on my camera lens n led flash for the past 2 days and I had trouble removing them. I kept both the flaps open for like half a day and the droplets are now gone. Thanks guys!!

I have exactly the same problem as the previous user, only my phone was not in a jacuzzi with jets. It was in a swimming pool, where I try my best to keep the phone out of the water, and when it is submerged it is for very brief periods and not deeper than maybe 30cms. Here is the problem. As much as I like this phone, honestly it was my 2nd choice after the LG G3, but since the G3 was not waterproof I opted for the Z2. I now have the phone for 45 days approximately. Within the first week of ownership, I had to send it in for a faulty secondary camera. After a few days I received it back, only for the same problem to occur within a few hours. I then just downloaded an aftermarket phone application and used that in conjunction with the secondary camera. Now, this morning, I noticed moisture in the camera lens. And in the evening, with more than 60% batery power left, the phone just dies on me. I have tried all the "fixes"as per the Sony Website, and nothing works. It is a dead duck, a pretty paperweight. Now this is suppose to be one of the Sony Flagship models, and I have had so much problems in the first 45 days of ownership. And by the looks of it, so do many other people. To make matters worse, I am leaving on safari to Africa in 2 days time, and I was relying heavily on the Xperia Z2 for taking photos and video. Now that will also not be possible. This is turning out to be a very expensive mistake. And the only feedback I will get from Sony is "please send it to the closest Sony support center for further evaluation".

So this problem happened to me too but all I did was to leave the SD card flap open overnight, after that there was no moisture but after I used it, and it starting to be hot I found that there's moisture again, so I did the same thing again, and this kept repeatinf until there's totally nothing in there, so I guess the overheating just kept evaporating the water until it was all gone, btw you can still use it while in cleaning process, but just keep the flaps open, hpe this helps c:

Just download a flashlight Application... Make sure your phone is full charge. Turn the flashlight on... The led light will be hot and The moist will vaporized.. Mine it takes about 1hour to remove all the moist... I do this in a airconditioned room so it will not make the phone as hot if you do this outside

Guys for me I had the same problem in my z2 and I simply got rid of the moist by putting the phone in an airtight glass box (you can use a plastic bags with the zippers since its airtight)and then I puted alot of silica get in the box and I opened all of the flaps after 2-3 the phone recovered and all of the moist on the lense disappeared

Check if your phone has the gaps manufacture defect ,that potentially happened as a result of a water passage through the gaps. I have gaps on my xperia and when I put it the first underwater the screen went crazy and the touch got damaged so I had to replace the screen and it worked fine again.

I had this problem a while ago. This was cause last night. Me and my friends were drinking, we got drunk ang we were showing off. I place my phone in a pitcher of cold water. When i woke up, using the camera a few hours later i notice the camera of my z2 to be foggy. When i turned it around it has moisture!

Solution: I opened all flaps, use the 4k video record with the flash/torch on. I stopped when the phone stop due to high temperature. Guess what?! The moisture is gone. Hope this helps
