Fingerprint scanner not working after 7.1.1.

My fingerprint scanner is not working after the 7.1.1. update. I have tried to do the test (settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test the fingerprint sensor) however i can't even find the fingerprint sensor test as it is not shown in the test screen.

After using the phone for some time it seems to be only temporarily. The phone again does not recognise the existence of a fingerprint scanner. It is not to be found under the "lock screen and security" as it usually would. And since i live in Denmark, and the feature worked before the new Android update, this is something that should be working Slightly_frowning_Face

Hi!
Unfortunlly, ther´s no fingerprint sensor test. Sony never made that Slightly_frowning_Face
Did you try reparing your device with Xperia Companion?

Please note that if you live in the USA, the fingerprint sensor ir dessabled 😕

I warned you about creating duplicate posts and now you have a duplicate account to create yet a new duplicate post. It goes against the forum guidelines.

Uliwooly, i can see why you would think it is a duplicate account. However, the newest of those accounts (FlipFlopDK) was actually created by my brother, because i asked him to (and he actually also owns a Sony device). And since i couldn't create the "duplicate post" with my own account, i asked my brother to post it via his account, which i found to be complying with forum guidelines, seeing as it wasn't my account posting the "duplicate", but a whole other account and another "irl person". However, i respect the forum guidelines, even though i must have misunderstood how they apply, and accept the punishment, as there can be no special treatment, no matter the explanation.

I myself (Bo7913DK) created this new account (Jensen321) just to explain this, as i thought i owed you that much.

Again, uliwooly, i am sorry for breaking the guidelines, and will pay more attention to how they apply and those kinds of things in the future. I am also sorry for the inconvenience. You may ban or delete this new user (Jensen321), as i just created it to respond to you. Thank you and have a great day.

For any person wondering about the original question (fingerprint sensor not working); i have written directly to Sony Support for an answer and will post it if they respond.

@Jensen321

Thanks for your honesty, if you didn't flashed the device with a different firmware, the best thing to do is to get it inspected by your Local support ASAP
