Hello,
I am having difficulty establishing a bluetooth connection between my Z1 compact and tablet Z (both running 4.4.4). I can pair the devices but not extablish a connection.
Bluetooth on the phone works fine with a in-car hands free device.
Have tried all the usual, unpairing, restarting, pairing steps with no improvement. can anyone help?

Thanks for this suggestion. I did a repair of both the phone and the tablet with PCC - no change.
However, I have found the solution! While setting Xperia Link between the two devices I discovered that there is a setting "Use at home" in the Device settings. When this is checked the bluetooth conncetion is automatically turned off when both devices are connected to the same WiFi network.
I guess I could have spotted that one sooner and saved myself a lot of time and effort!
Thanks again for your help!
How about settings > apps > all > smartconnect > clear data
Thanks for this suggestion. I have done this on both devices and am still unable to connect.
Some additional information:
I have just noticed that when I click on the paired device (my phone) on the tablet. The device greys out and shows 'connecting' after that I see 'connected' for a fraction of a second. However, the connection is immediately lost
I am able to establish a bluetooth connection from my tablet to my laptop (so bluetooth is working OK)
During my unsuccessful attempts to connect the phone and the tablet there are no other devices connect to either by Bluetooth
