Anyone Know How To...Reset Software Update Info So Marshmallow Will Download?

Anyone here know which setting has to be cleared/reset in order to prompt the phone to download the Marshmallow update? I had it until yesterday when my phone store told me to hard reset my phone and now I am stuck back in Lollipop with the phone saying it is up to date.

I had found a way months ago, but can't find the page again. It was in the App Manager and you had to reset or clear cache or stop something running to make the phone go back out and look for an update.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have mentioned that I have tried a hard reset multiple times, tried Xperia Companion, chatted with Sony, and been to the phone store all to no avail. No one seems to know why the phone wouldn't have restored to the most recent software version.

The Sony chat rep sent me to a link that would allow me to update manually somehow if the phone showed in configuration that it is unlocked, but mine says it is locked, so I have no idea where to go from there. If there was a way to get the software manually, that would be great too!

I don't care so much about the version except that a few apps I use regularly for banking and school things won't install on the Lollipop version. Slightly_frowning_Face

Verizon...

Verizon rep at the store told me to take it to a phone repair place to see if they could unlock it and load Marshmallow, but when I called the guy said he'd never heard of such a problem and didn't know how to help either.

When I found a solution back in like Nov., it was some obscure post in a comment thread that said to clear cache or stop a process within the application manager that would make the phone think it had never updated before...and that worked. But like I said I can't find that same post and sadly didn't think to bookmark knowing I'd ever need to find it again.

I meant to ask, which android version is running on your phone

settings > about phone > android version and build number

@Blessedx4

reseting the phone won't downgrade the phone from marshmallow to lollipop, most likely someone flashed your phone, do you have the Z3 or Z3V?
