I have disabled "Wake screen when you receive notifications" in lock screen preferences / ambient display, but certain apps keep waking the screen up and this is frustrating, because in these cases, if the phone is in my pocket, some buttons might get pressed as I walk.
One specific app is Headpace when it sends a "Mindful moment" notification, but I doubt it is the app's problem. This setting should globally disable screen wake.
Is there a setting I'm missing or is this a bug to be fixed?
Headspace promises "Get the most out of your day with the Headspace meditation app. We’ll help you focus, breathe, stay calm, perform at your best and get a better night’s rest through the life-changing skills of relaxation, meditation and mindfulness."
I certainly helps you focus on your phone, you don't seem to stay calm however.
All I can advise is to dive deep into the settings of the app and/or in your phone's settings -> Configure notifications.
A mail to [email protected] can give you information as well.
My model is Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact (H8324) on Android Pie (9.0, Build number: 52.0.A.3.27) and there is no urgency setting (or was that called notification priority?) anymore compared to version 8. I cannot individually set for an app to not wake my screen, or make a sound, etc. In the headspace app, there is no customization either, all I can do is turn notifications on or off within the app. I want to receive notifications, but without waking my screen up. And in my phone's setting I have disabled "Wake screen when you receive notifications" in lock screen preferences / ambient display, so this means this "global" setting is not working. Is there any way to disable screen wake globally?
