Xperia E1 will not stop vibrating

I purchased an experia E1 for my wife. About a month later it began to vibrate non stop unless you removed the battery. I have attempted to use the Xperia companion software to try and perform a software repair. But everytime I try I plug the usb cable back into the phone and I receive the image of the fully charged battery and then it goes black and nothing happens. How long should it take to respond and begin to perform the repair? Has anyone found an answer to why the phone continues to vibrate for no apparant reason.

That seems to be a hardware issue, you could test it in >>> safe mode but this could be due to a fall, water damage, etc, contact your Local support to get it inspected

Hi @naa762000,

Welcome to the community,

I am really sorry to hear this.

When you are running through the Software repair, are you able to confirm that you are  holding down the Volume Down key before and after plugging the USB cable into the device, as you need to hold this key while you plug it in and then continue to hold it, after a short period of time Xperia Companion should pop up and advise to let go of the key.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi,

As Per your email and the text desciption on the Xpeia companion. I have held down the volume down key before and after pluggin in the USB cable. As before all I get is the sony sign, a quick white screen then the battery symbol appears then a black screen. Nothing changes, I perform this for a few minutes but nothing appears. All the while the phone continues to vibrate therough this process until I remove the battery. You say a "short period" is this seconds..minutes?

Frustrating....

Hi @naa762000,

By short time I mean around 30 seconds, try doing this.

1. Get Xperia Companion to the USB insert Stage.

2. remove the battery from the handset for 30 seconds and then put it back in

3. Hold down the Down Volume Key

4. Insert the USB cable into the phone

5. Continue to hold down the Down Volume key

At no stage should the screen of the handset turn on or animate.

Let me know how you get on

Good news.

I managed to get the phone to finally go through the repair function.

Bad news.

It continues to vibrate unless the battery is removed.

I'm really sorry to hear that, in this case the only option I can suggest is speaking with customer care, as this sounds like hardware.
