T2 ultra software update

I tried to upgrade my T2 ultra dual by directly downloading the update on my phone.
Before the download it asked to clear 1.2gb of free space which I did.
Bt after the download its asking for more 1.2 gb memory.

So, do I need total 1.2gb +695mb(software update )?

I would rather suggest ti perform a system factory reset. And download the update thru pc companion
