I am joining the ranks of those who have lost their USB Portcover. Mine fell off in the middle of the day, at some point between charging it and closing the cover and getting my first "close the port to ensure waterproofness" message.
I am nowhere near a Sony Repair Center (I live in Iceland and Frankfurt, the nearest Sony shop is in Berlin or London, seven hours from me) and I don't seem to be able to order this part anywhere. Where can I get a cover?
In order to ensure that the phone still follows the IP classification, you should have this part replaced at a service center. Please contact your local support team for more information:
After I posted this picture on Google+ I received oodles (~20) messages from people who had the same thing happen and are, like me and you, in limbo. Sony says "send to a service center". Service center says "contact your vendor". Vendor, for US customers and some people like me, is Sony. Who say they can't replace the part, you'll have to send in the phone and take a 2 to 5 week wait...
I love Sony, I love Android, but stuff like that makes me yearn for a Genius Bar or something else local I can take my phone to.
