Problem with connecton to Bluetooth 3.0 PC

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with pairing devices: my laptop with Bluetooth 3.0 module and my Xperia z3c with 4.0, obviously. The devices just can't see each other. The settings of visibility are checked. In different cases both devices work correctly (I mean, z3c successfully connects to other 4.0 devices and laptop also see my old phone with 3.0).

Does z3c backward compatible with 3.0? AFAIK, Bluetooth 4.0 spec by itself does, but maybe I miss something.

Thanks for any advices.

I see.

Can you explain more? Like does the laptop at least detect your Z3C or your Z3C could detect the laptop? Or both doesn't recognize each other?

I personally use an old laptop bluetooth 2.0 connected with my Z2 4.0 and play some songs through A2DP. But never tried with 3.0 .

Hey Ashroft98,

Unfortunately, I can't input here more than just the devices don't see each other in both directions.

Today, I tried to connect two my laptops with 3.0 and 4.0 and saw the same picture. The laptop with 4.0 can't see 3.0 laptop and vice versa. It seems for me that there isn't a problem with xperia but with laptop and its 3.0 module. There are not much settings also that I can try to tune my bluetooth connection. And it's confusing that specification says that 4.0 and 3.0 should be compatible.

Bluetooth is a capricious standard. Usually it works fine, sometimes it creates unsolvable problems.

You can always retry with USB bluetooth dongle.
