Manufacturing Defect in Z3/Z3 Compact.

Hello,

I bought my Xperia Z3 in Feb 2015 from Meteor in Ireland. I have the exact same problem that alot of people are complaining about in the Z3 Compact forums, and maybe other forums as well.

The top left corner of my screen is coming away from the casing, causing my proximity sensor to always be activated when I start a mobile call resulting in a black screen that can't be woken up, unless I apply pressure to the top left corner of the screen.

I am going to contact my service provider later today to see if anything can be done.

I originally thought my problem was with the new Android 6 Marshmellow update as they seems to have made my problem worse, but upon doing research and reading other peoples problems, I inspected my phone and found that the top left corner of my screen is coming away from the casing.

Clearly this is a manufacturing defect, as it causing the proximity sensor to not work properly and it makes the phone not be waterproof and dustproof per IP65/IP68 requirements. Not to mention that so many people having the exact same problem and are not technical enough to diagnose the problem. (Black screens while calling, dead phones in the water, and similar events.)

Not only that, I pride myself in taking great care of my phones and my phone has been kept inside one case or another since the day I bought it. Luckily I've never tried to submerge my phone underwater, or I would have surely fired it. I enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking and the waterproof rating was one of the main reasons I chose this phone.

@Nasaan

Sorry to hear that, you need to contact your Local support and see what they can do about it. The glue used in Xperia phones will sometimes soften by ambient heat or heat generated by the phone itself.
