GPS activate itself automatically for no reason

These past 6 moth I have been paying more attention to my battery usage in the phone, apps that drain it more, etc. There was something that I saw as insignificant first but now I see how annoying and how much batt with takes. Every time my battery reach 23% 15% 10% 8% and 5% the GPS activate itself for more 4 minutes and then go off, making my battery to go down even faster, all this without being configure which makes it as a not wanted behavior. Please anyone knows how to prevent the system to do that, should I switch to other android version, away from the factory carrier version? Thanks

It could just as easily be a background app set to keep updated with location. Just a few....
Clocks
Weather
Maps
Google location history
Facebook
Any local service apps
Any offer apps for local businesses
Some Games
Etc etc.
If you wish you can completely turn off location in settings

I have the location setting off for alla apps. And I turn it on only when using the map apps and after usage it goes back to off. So, I have want to know if someone when through that too or it happened to them (some times I turn it off but it remains in the same state, and keep running the GPS service in the background, and even though the app is closed, so I have to restart the phone,THEY HAVE TK FIX THIS BIG ANNOYING PROBLEM when they can I guess)

@Joah7

Did you read @Viridis post? GPS can be activated by other apps, not just by maps.

Yes, in deed. Fb, weather could request and make use of this resource of GPS location. those in my phone that he listed do have this option enabled, including fb messenger which come enabled by default. But the problem is that the GPS it's on in those marks of percentage of my battery. Probably I have to start unistalling apps one by one to see if I find the culprit lol

What I would do is to charge the phone 100% > boot on safe mode for few hours perhaps 4 hours > then check the battery.

I'll try that and see if the problem with the GPS is fixed that way. Thanks
