Hey, I have a Xperia M5 and I have roughly a week with it. Both cameras had been working kind of well, with a little bit of focusing problems. But today, the front camera just stopped working. I forced stop both camera apps and cleared their data, and then restarted the phone. I did that like 10 times, and since it didn't work I had to restore it. I lost valuable data and had to configure everything from scratch. The front camera is still not working. I doubt it's a hardware issue, since the phone is in very good conditions and I have very little time with it. I'm disappointed because one of the things why I decided to buy this phone was because of the cameras, and I didn't want to regret not buying a Motorola phone again. I don't know if someone in my city can repair it (if it's a hardware problem). Can ant of you give me some advice please? I really trust Sony because I know it's a pretty good company, but thus phone has given me a lot of trouble. By the way, the rear camera works fine, but when I switch to the front one the screen appears black, and after a while it either says "camera not available" or "unknown error".
Hi Crab1990,
Welcome to the community!
I'm sorry to hear about your experience with your phone. When you say you restored the phone, did you do a software repair?
If you've done that already, contact your local Sony support team using the link in my signature.
I'll let you know if the problem is gone
Hi, I just did a software repair today and it didn't work
I'm going to contact Sony. Thanks for your attention. It said "unknown error" when I switched to the front camera.
That's unfortunate
It might be a hardware issue. Hopefully your local Sony repair centre can fix this up for you.
Best of luck!
