Hi,

Now updgraded my Xepria M to android 4.3 but it seems that BLE is still not supported...

Is the Xperia M hardware capable of that? Any plan for having BLE working on Xperia M?

I am trying to detect standard iBeacons manufactured by April Beacon.

It works well with Xperia Z1 (Android 4.4 - build 14.3.A.0.757) but when I try with Xperia M (Android 4.3 - build 15.4.A.0.23) it does not...

Again, from what I can see in the Android API, everything happens as if the Xperia M is not BLE capable (in other words nothing to do with a particular BLE accessory). So back to the initial question... Does Xperia M support BLE... ? That's still a mystery as of today...

Please keep us posted on your findings. It's been a while we are waiting for a proper answer / solution.

I don't have more time to wait for Sony's solution, and I testet it with CyanogenMod. Now BLE working. So the bug is in the software, not in a hardware.

Thanks Istvan.. That's the most useful post on this thread so far!

Note to Sony's repesentants: the time you take to answer and fix this software issue is simply not acceptable. Users like me have put effort to bring you all the information you need but still, you are unable to give all Sony Xperia M users a decent answer or solution...

I would have prefer to hear this useful finding from Sony staff... now can we ask for an express fix through a firmware update?

This is only solution to make everybody happy and close this thread that has been active for way too long...

New firmware released for Xperia M

Unfortunately, it is not available for me yet... so I can't test.

If anyone could test BLE on this new firmware and post the verdict on this thread, that would be appreciated!

I made the update to 15.4.A.1.9

BLE Checker still show a red screen with "BLE not supported" ! I Bought the xperia M few weeks ago because it has android 4.3 upgrade and BLE support !

Ok thanks, I also got the confirmation that this recent software update doesn't fix anything about BLE.

Now I am wondering if Sony even dare to read this thread.... ?

I'm trying to use Sigma R1 heart rate monitor and it doesn't work either. BLE not supported. That's not the only problem with Xperia M, also GPS module does not work properly, looses signal and is unable to retrieve until you switch it off and on again. It takes ages for Sony to respond threads, not mentioning of resolving the issues. Poor, poor Sony support and devices...

Hi !

I'm a new user of Xperia M Dual (C2005) ...

However, I can't use BLE devices ! (even though bluetooth 4.0 is integrated)

Accessory: Polar H7 (heart rate sensor)

The Polar H7 is well recognized, but NO applications is able to use it (works fine on iPhone 4S)
